寺町の町家「月雫」スライドショーUP
— Walkthrough Moon Shadow House, Kyoto Machiya Renovation —
「月雫」は、大正時代の京都町家を改装して蘇らせたウィークエンドハウスです。古くこの土地は、藤原道長の居宅であったことから、彼の有名な和歌にちなんで望月（満月）をテーマにデザインしています。日本語で月光は月影とも表現されることからMoon shadow houseという英語題も添えています。
もともとあった柱や梁、また土壁や和紙などの伝統的な材料を生かし、職人たちの知恵や技術を借りながら作り上げました。床に使っている敷瓦のいぶし銀は、外光を穏やかに受け止め、光の変化で息づき、土壁や襖紙に映り込んで、空間に潤いのある陰影をもたらしました。
町家の空間の魅力を尊重しつつも、現代の生活スタイルに合った新しい提案もしています。
2階の浴室はもう一つのリビングでもあり、夕日の御所に遥かな星霜に想いを馳せる空間になっています。
ここを訪れる人は、住まいの中に散りばめられた様々な月影の雫を集めて、それぞれの望月を思い描いていただければと思います。
Moon shadow house is a renovation of Kyoto Machiya townhouse and was completed in March 2021. While respecting the traditional architecture of Kyoto, we are designing a new atmosphere that suits modern lifestyles. The dark silver floor tiles gently reflect the outside light, and space breathes as it changes. Since this land is the site of Fujiwara no Michinaga’s residence in ancient times, we decided to design it with the theme of the moon after his famous poem. In Japanese, moonlight refers to moonlight. Hiding various pieces of moon shadows in space, visitors collect them and imagine their full moon in their imagination.
