Instead of installing a physical "stage set“ on the stage, I use the three available surfaces of the stage space: the stage floor, the backdrop and a scrim at the front of the stage to create varying architectural spaces. Thus, the architecture of the stage itself becomes a landscape and a device for traveling through various spatial zones.
